Prof. Daniel Chamovitz is Dean of the George S. Wise Faculty of Life Sciences at Tel Aviv University, and founder of the Manna Center Program for Food Safety and Security. This interdisciplinary education and research program aims to find innovative solutions for global food security issues. Chamovitz studied at both Columbia University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he received his Ph.D. in Genetics. He has been a visiting scientist at Yale University and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. His scientific career has been characterized by novel and field-defining research; he has published numerous peer-reviewed research articles and is on the editorial boards of several scientific journals. Chamovitz is a sought-after speaker and science commentator. His 2012 book What a Plant Knows has been translated into 13 languages, and was featured in the world press and media, including CBS Sunday and BBC. When not overseeing the research in his lab, Chamovitz is passionate about teaching and lectures to groups about the role of Plant Biology in feeding a growing world. Towards this end he does pro bono consultation for governmental and international agencies on issues concerning Food Security.

Mr. Jacob Mualem Marom is the Director of Kidum- the TTO of the ARO.The ARO is the research arm of the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and is responsible for roughly 70% of the Public R&D in Agriculture in Israel. Prior to joining Kidum and the ARO, Mr. Jacob Mualem Marom was Deputy Director for work relations & wages in the ministry of Finance. Dr. Yosi Shacham-Diamand is a full professor in the department of physical electronics, head of the laboratory for micro and nano system and technologies, Iby and Fleischman faculty of engineering at the Tel Aviv University.
